I moved my publishing business to Messing more than 12 years ago when
Bouchiers Place was built to replace the farmyard buildings alongside The Street.
I was soon involved in village life as a governor of Messing cum Inworth
Primary School and was invited to join the Parochial Church Council - I am still
active with both organisations and lead a family service once a month at the parish church where I am the lay evangelist.
After marrying Helen in the parish church, we revived the parish magazine as
The Messing, Inworth, Copford and Easthorpe Post and have won 2002 and 2003
top magazine awards from the Rural Community Council of Essex. Items can be sent
to
micepost@aol.com After a break in publication, we hope to resume during 2008.
Our business, Messing Matters Ltd, contributes items of local news to The
Tribune and the Essex County Standard as well as working for a range of regional,
national and international publications. We also publish The Tolleshunt
Knights Post and I am communications adviser (press officer) to the Bishop of
Colchester.
I am chairman of the Parish Council and run the parish council oil syndicate - please contact my e-mail address
jmelongman@aol.com for any information you may need.
